Birdcage Veil

Birdcage Veils have become ever so popular, and it is the kind of veil that I want. I found this great DIY birdcage veil article and instructions on OnceWed. Once Wed is an awesome wedding website with a ton of information, ideas about every aspect of your wedding.

My mom and I have talked about her making my veil as well, which will be cheaper than buying a veil at a Bridal store. I have already talked with a custom designer about making me a hair clip to go with it. But that I am keeping a secret!

Happy New Year

We just want to wish everyone a very happy new year. Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve. 2011 is going to be the YEAR! Getting married in 9 months and 9 days!

Grandmother of the Groom: Fay

There is no doubt that Fay has always been there for not only Jeremy but Marcee as well. She opened up her home to Marcee when Jeremy and Marcee first starting dating and treated her immediately like family. Jeremy would not have made it this far without the kindness and love that his grandmother has given him. As he says he is in debt to his grandmother, he owes her more than he can ever repay, because everything she has given him is not only monetary.

Jeremy moved in with his grandmother in 2005. She taught him how to drive, cook, put a roof over his head and helped make him into the person that he is today!

Fay is one of the strongest women that I know. She is kind to the limits. She would do absolutely anything for anymore because that is just her. We all know that you can’t chose your family, but if you could you would want her to be your number one pick!

We have big plans for Fay at the wedding but Shh…its a secret!!!

Mother of the Groom: Teresa

Without  Teresa their would be no Jeremy! What can you really say about the woman that gives birth to you. Other than you really truly can never repay them. Without her I would be nothing because I wouldn’t exist.

I may have been a little bit of a trouble maker when I was younger but the one person that I could always count on not to turn their back on me was my mom. She was always there to push me and help me get though school. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have gotten as far with school as I did. Sometimes I feel that I let her down by only getting my GED, but she has never said that she was disappointed in me at all.

Growing up was a little tough but she always helped to make things better. One Christmas she did a scavenger hunt for us to find our presents and it to this day remains one of the best Christmas I’ve ever had!

She is always there to listen to me just talk, help me in whatever way that she can, listen to my jokes, and answer when I call her every 5 mins to say something new!

Busy week thus far

Sorry that we haven’t posted anything in a couple of days. A lot has been going on. Monday we did a ton of shopping and did not get home until really late. Then last night we had to run Shiloh to the Emergency Vet. She had been throwing up in the evening but then she threw up blood. So we knew that we need to get her to the Vet. She stayed last night and is having to stay the night again.  They said she has HGE, and it might have been from her getting in the trash or from stress, but that there isn’t really a way to tell why it started or happened. We went this afternoon to go visit her to check in on her. She seemed a lot better. Giving kisses and wagging her tail 90 miles an hour.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can go get her in the morning from the Vet.

DIY Wax Seal

Everyone loves to seal their wedding invitations with wax seals. Now for anyone who has actually looked at purchasing a custom seal knows that they can get a little expensive. Well while on Design* Sponge the other day I found another amazing DIY project for a wooden wax seal.

I’m not going to say that it looks easy to do, but its a really neat idea to make your own custom wax seal. I’m hoping this week to go get some of the supplies and I’ll post about it, with some pictures as well.

DIY project

One of my new favorite websites is Design Sponge. They have some amazing ideas about everything, from projects to recipes. Just about anything you could think of. Well one of the awesome post that I read and am dying to try are Love Logs(click to read the article) . Its a really creative idea that I think is just really cute and easy to make. I told Jeremy the other day since he already has a soldering iron that I was going to try it. Now I just have to find a log!

Meet the Matron of Honor: Lauren

Lauren and I met soon after I switch schools in high school. She lived right down the road. We became good friends her senior year, my junior year. One long road trip, had us on the fast track to best friendhood…lol. But Lauren used to say what made us best friends was when later than year, she sneezed on me.. We spent a lot of time going on little road trips and concerts.

Lauren and I don’t get to talk a lot. We both are always busy. However the great thing about our friendship, is that we don’t have to talk every day for each other to know that we love each other and we are the best of friends. When we do get to talk or to see one another, things are like always. We can talk for hours, catching up on the previous three months or so. She always understand just want I mean. She has always been there for me. Recently on a trip to Georgia, she let me say with her and her husband. I was their first house guest, so it was a great honor. We could have hour long conversions in the morning, and I miss them now, but I know that our friendship will always be strong enough to weather the distance and the time!

There was never any doubt in my mind that I wanted her standing beside me on the happiness days of my life!!

Meet the Mother of the Bride: Ruth

The woman that brought me into this world. I owe her everything. She has always been there for me, willing to kill anyone who even dare think of hurting me. That’s her, always the protector. No matter what I’ve always been able to count on her. For the last couple of years, Jeremy and I have been living with her. She has taken him in just like her own, and done anything that we needed, and always tried to help in whatever way possible.

My mother is my hero, the person I aspire to be just like. She is strong willed, , she has strong values, and doesn’t take anything from anyone. She is an amazing person, no doubt about it.

She has so graciously agreed to make my wedding dress along with the girls dresses. She is also helping with a ton of the wedding details, and will be “in charge” of most everything on the BIG day! lol  For the woman that will wear many hats on our BIG day, no one “hat” is more important to me other than that fact that she will be walking me down the aisle!

I love her with all my heart and there is no way that I would have been able to accomplish anything in my life without her!
